In the meantime- I'm back to glazing and will have hot-out-of-kiln pieces to take to the Craftsbury Academy Market this Saturday, Dec. 1st from 10- 3pm. Hope to see you there.

Thanks for Contrast

Those of us who live here are blessed with lots of contrast. In regards to weather- we have the saying,"if you don't like the weather- wait a minute." Even if I don't like the weather I can find something to appreciate, like this view out my kitchen window! I'm going to go glaze pots and let the lentil soup cook on the wood stove... I hope all of you find something to appreciate today.

Happy Daffodils and Creature Cups

The daffodils are happy that the snow melted and the bees are buzzing in the plum blossoms and the grass needs mowing. The tomatoes are growing in the greenhouse and the clay in my studio is taking shapes- like these creature cups waiting to be bisqued in my next firing. Memorial Day weekend is the 20th Annual Open Studio stop by to see my new work.

Skunk in my backyard!

As I was working on some pots I looked out my studio window and saw this beautiful creature digging around my backyard in the middle of the day (an unusual sight since I thought skunks only come out at night?) I hope it doesn't have rabies, but it was jumping around playing with the leaves and acting like it had spring fever.  My neighbors cat took a look and ran to hide in the barn. I'm hoping I don't run into it again....I'll keep you posted.

Spring Day in Greensboro

The sunlight coming through the stormy black clouds is spotlighting the Greensboro Barn. I've been enjoying the shelter of my greenhouse during this past week of strong north winds. Eating salad greens already is a real treat. I have lots of new pottery in the works too.

Snow IN again!

View of the Greensboro Barn on March 30th. After a mild couple of weeks in which I got all my fruit trees and berry bushes pruned we are now having more typical weather and the wood stove feels cozy again. It's a good time to make lots of pots and jewelry.

You can find my clay hearts at Frog Hollow in Burlington, Artisans Hand in Montpelier, The Northeast Kingdom Art Guild in St. J,  Haymaker Press in Morrisville and at my Greensboro Barn.

Cheers to 2012

Where did January go? As you can see we have snow! Not much-but enough to enjoy x-c skiing in my back yard. I have a yummy wood fire going at home all the time and it's very tempting to just sit in the arm chair and watch the flames and feel the warmth, dream of being down under and watch the Australian Open, which is finally over. so I've been in the basement glazing up a storm and cooking up new things....soon to be posted!!!
